![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gem of a cafe Under the shadow of Eureka Tower, but not to be overlooked, this vibrant and very community based cafe never disappoints. Frequented by suits and locals all day, the atmosphere is generally hip with selected tunes playing in the background. The space is within a refurbish warehouse (bond store) and is provided with comfortable table seating inside and out, plus a bar area for those on their own. The lineup for takeaway coffee in the mornings is a sure sign that they get the stuff right. The staff here are permanent and excellent, with good attitudes and they're never shy for a chat if time allows. Food varies from fresh pastries to formal cooked breakfasts with a twist. The broken eggs with truffle oil and shaved parmesan being my favourite, although a little over indulgent to have more than once a week. The lunch menu kicks on until 3pm and changes regularly. Expect a 'soup of the day', a selection of toasted panini, plus a small selection of formal meals like a parpadelle pasta served with a fine pick of fresh seafood plus lime dressing, or a green pea risotto with persian fetta and parsley. And if the lunch drags on, help yourself to a glass of wine...there's about 6 by the glass to choose from. Summary: If you're on the south side of the Yarra, take a short walk away from the river and discover the gem that is The Bond Store. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not to be missed if you're visiting Soutbank Great little place hidden among the tall office buildings in Southbank. It masquerades as an old barnhouse-like building, which I used to visit for breky meeting, lunch or coffee when I was working in the area. Bondstore is only 1 of the 2 good coffee places in Melbourne that I know. It's a shame it's not open on weekends. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bondstore cafe, what Southbank needed Finally a cafe in the Southbank area that knows what its doing. Great breakfast, i had the mozzarella sandwich with roasted pepperonata. Lunch items range from sardine bruschetta and prawn, orange and fennel salad, to roast chicken with sweet potato mash and various paninis. On the three seperate occasions i visited the coffee was excellent, obviously made by people who care! All in all the only place in Southbank worth its salt. |
