fantastic

a friend dragged me down sydney road to try - it was spot on. hamburger with the lot appeared mountainous; the coffee was awesome, the music was great and there was a great cross section of patrons (little old ladies and young'uns).
next time, the passionfruit sponge cake will not escape me!

Very happy with Green Refectory

Delicious, healthy real food with a quality home-cooked look and taste. Great coffee; ...plus they have Bonsoy :) Relaxed, genuinely friendly atmosphere.

Great value on Sydney Rd

The Green Refectory is easier to find by the 'Illy' coffee sign that juts out from the front windows.
As far as value for money goes, I think this place is a winner. It serves the hugest breakfast you've ever seen or tried to eat for only $15 and at the other end of the size scale, you can have a homemade sausage roll with relish for only $2. There are many different items in between these two:salads which are on display, some mexican and greek style wraps, soups and you can also make up your own sandwiches or foccacias. Their cake selection is sublime and you can usually get yourself a hefty sized piece for about $4.
I recommend this place because it is very well priced when on a budget, but also because you always find something satisfying to eat even when unsure of what the stomach is hankering for.
If not for lunch, then definitely try The Green Refectory for one of the breakfast items!!
