Chinotto Cafe

Tucked away from the busy highway in leafy East Fremantle I have discovered Chinotto Cafe Perth.

The chic and warm atmosphere is made even more enticing by the welcoming smile of its charming owner. Some of you may recognise his coffee and the culinary artistry from his former cafe, Ditto, of Applecross.

From the Italian bars, French boulangerie to American coffee shops I have always sought out the finest cuppa and I can assure you that, while it may have meant I have also spent many hours philosophising about the meaning of life and love over many and varied cups, this has been no easy task...!

Mr Allegretta uses a full bodied roast, I would say robust - but the distinguishing chracteristic of his creamy latte is the way in which he heats the milk to the perfect temperature - every Italian barista's delight - the secret is not too hot, preserving the full and rich flavour of the coffee, which creates a silk texture.

The counter display appears immaculately with homemade bites - I tasted a mini mudcake, the owner's own creation - not too rich, a delicious sweet treat to complement the aromatic, smooth cuppa.

Move over Gino... Cchinotto is definitely set to be the hottest new coffee venue south of the river!
